Let me tell you about myself.....

After many years teaching school music I am now teaching and performing music on the hammer dulcimer and Appalachian Mountain dulcimer across the USA and abroad. I have won both the Texas Hammer Dulcimer Championship and the Southern Regional Hammer Dulcimer Championship and several of my students participate in dulcimer competitions. My student, Josh Messick, won the 2003 National Hammer Dulcimer championship at the age of 18, and Jacob Green won the 2009 Mt. Dulcimer championship at the age of 17.

Most recently one of my teen age students, Rebecca VanZant,  won the Texas Hammer Dulcimer Championship in May, 2015 and competed for the National title in Winfield, KA.

With Texas Bound, I have performed at venues around Houston such as the Houston Rodeo, the Museum of Fine Arts, and for many schools, churches and community events including the Dickens-On-The-Strand Victorian Festival in Galveston . For eight years  we provided live music for the Country Peddler Craft Shows in Texas and Louisiana.

Now, I travel all across the US and abroad performing and teaching at festivals, workshops, churches and community events. I have written instructional books for both kinds of dulcimers and I’ve produced 5 CDs. I am currently producing video web-lessons, available on DVDs.
